Down by the Lake

Pittcon 2009 logo

I'm going to be exhibiting SonoPlot's products at Pittcon next week in lovely Chicago, IL. Pittcon is one of the largest scientific equipment shows in the U.S. I'll be manning our booth (#762) from Monday (March 9) through Thursday (March 12).

As always, you're more than welcome to stop by and chat. During the quiet periods of these shows, it's just me and our robot, and it doesn't say much. Unfortunately, I believe they do charge for entry to this show on every day but Thursday.

Even though the vast majority of the visitors to my site seem to be stopping by for the Cocoa / Amazon EC2 writeups, I thought I should let those of a scientific persuasion know about a molecular modeling blog I came across. The Macromolecular Modeling Blog caught my eye when they mentioned Molecules recently, so I figured I should return the favor. For any molecular biologists / bioinformaticists out there, this looks to be a very solid resource.

Also, anyone with an interest in nanotechnology needs to start reading K. Eric Drexler's blog. I've stated before how much of a fan I am of his work.

We had a good turnout at the inaugural CocoaHeads meeting in Madison, WI last night (Maurice Cheeks snapped a photo of the event). The general theme was about getting started with Cocoa development on the iPhone. I mentioned some resources for this during the talk, and by request I'd like to list those here.

Read on for the list of Cocoa development resources.

Based on local interest, my coworker, Pete Johnson, has started a chapter of CocoaHeads to be based in Madison, WI. I'll be helping out as a speaker and organizer for the group.

Our first meeting will be on February 12th at 6:30 PM on the UW-Madison campus. We'll be in the Computer Sciences Building, room CS 1240. More details can be found here.

Read on for more about this first meeting.
