Down by the Lake

Nanotech 2009 logo

I'll be on the road once again to present SonoPlot's products next week at the Nanotech 2009 conference in Houston, TX. I'll be in booth 135 on Tuesday, May 5 and Wednesday, May 6. As always, If you are at the show, please stop by and say hello.

This looks to be a particularly interesting conference, judging from the program tracks.

Pi Cubed icon

Today, I'm proud to announce the release of my latest application: Pi Cubed for iPhone / iPod Touch. Pi Cubed is a visual math application built around the touchscreen of these portable devices. Rather than follow the standard design of calculators, with fixed buttons and a small LCD display, I wanted to try something new. Pi Cubed uses the full touchscreen to typeset and evaluate calculations, and it relies heavily on Core Animation to animate all of its operations.

Pi Cubed is available for $9.99 (or the local equivalent) on the iTunes App Store.

Read on for more about this new application.

MRS Spring 2009 logo

I'm going to be on the road once again, this time for the 2009 MRS Spring Meeting in San Francisco at Moscone West. As usual, I will be showing off SonoPlot's robotic fluid printing equipment in booth #218 from Tuesday, April 14 through Thursday, April 16.

If anyone is interested in getting together at the show, let me know and I can get you in. Otherwise, I'll be available after the show closes each day.

We will be having another meeting of the Madison, WI CocoaHeads group tomorrow, March 24th, at 6:30 PM on the UW-Madison campus. We'll be in the Computer Sciences Building, room CS 1240 once again.

I'll be talking again, but this time it will be a more focused presentation on Core Animation and all the neat stuff you can do with it. It's been a little while since the last meeting, due to spring break, but I hope to have the same large group as last time.
